Evaluations
|
|
All potential students of The Courteous Canine must first undergo an evaluation. I do not try to fit you into a cookie-cutter training regimen, but rather will work with you to develop the right training program for you and your dog. I will give you an honest and accurate assessment of what your dog may be capable of achieving, and what his limitations are. Whether you just want to teach your dog to stop jumping on your houseguests; you have serious aggression issues with your dog; or you want to work towards an advanced Obedience title for your dog, I will explain the best approach to reaching the goals that you set for your dog and yourself.
Fee: $25 plus mileage, applicable towards any training program
Puppy Kindergarten
This course is designed to help you overcome all of the problems associated with puppy ownership, as well as creating a happy and healthy relationship between you and your new puppy. Topics covered include but are not limited to: housebreaking; leash-breaking, subordination; socialization; nipping/biting; health and hygiene; proper and safe confinement; proper toys and exercise. The course consists of three to four one-hour lessons done in and around your home over the course of several weeks.
Pre-Requisite: Puppies aged 6- 16 weeks.
Tuition: $225. Mileage rates apply.
Private Lessons
These lessons last 55 minutes and are generally taught in and around your home. I will work individually with you and your dog, giving you instructions on how to work with and train your dog. It is expected that you work with your dog at least twice daily after every Private Lesson. Depending on the situation you may need anywhere from two to six or more lessons to reach your goals.
Pre-Requisite: Dog must be at least 18 weeks of age.
Tuition: $85/hour; $450/5 lessons. Mileage rates apply.
Weekly Intensive Training
I will come to your home every day Monday through Friday, and work with your dog for one hour. At the end of each week, I will give you a one-hour handling lesson to show you what your dog has learned and how to get him to respond to you. I also will give you a follow-up handling lesson within two to four weeks after the initial training, to make sure that you and your dog are still working together successfully.
Pre-Requisite: Dog must be at least 18 weeks of age.
Tuition: $825/2 weeks; $1200/3 weeks.
Board&Train:
Similar to the Weekly Intensive Training, this program is for those particularly stubborn dogs, or dogs that need a simulated "home environment". Ideal candidates are those dogs which lack social skills and may be considered "aggressive". Also a favorite for people with a busy schedule.
$1350/ 2 weeks; $1900/ 3 weeks.
Boarding:
Now offering limited boarding for well-behaved dogs. In my home, your dog will be treated like "one of the family", whether we're all hanging out in the den watching a movie or playing in the yard. Dogs will stay either in a crate or in the "dog room" at night and while I am away. Preference is given to those dogs that have been through a Courteous Canine training program, and additional fees may apply for un-trained dogs. Please call for more information.
Rate: $50/ day; $30/ half-day. 2 dogs: $85/day; $45/ half-day.
